Yummy Gummy and Hello Jell-O! 🍬

Members of th Pozzo reserach group participated to the 8th annual Introduce a Girl series organized by Women in Chemical Engineering at the University of Washington!


This year's theme was Food Science! For this event Shayna, Huat, and Faiza presented fun and interactive activities about how Jell-O is formed, discussing the formation of a gelatin mesh (matrix). They also showed the effects of osmosis on Gummy Bears by placing them in different solutions - water, salt water, sugary water and some with enzymes ( meat tenderizer)- and comparing them to the original candy.
